Change-room Confidential…is this the world dirtiest change-room?

David Jones Bondi Junction – Underwear Department

Worn, stained carpet, lint in the corner

I was too sacred to put my bag down on the floor here…let alone try anything on. Isn’t poor lighting enough to contend with?

David Jones has downgraded their profits for Q4 this year and have predicted a drop in after tax profits of 15-20% for the first half of next year. David Jones Chief Executive Paul Zahra has used every excuse in the book from the new carbon tax, twitchy share markets, falling house prices, to competition from online retailers to explain these disappointing results.

Perhaps David Jones need to go back to basics. Australian shoppers might be much more willing to part with their hard-earned cash if you provided them with some decent service, a fun experience and a clean change-room.

Rate the experience – Pointless minus★

Tell us your shopping tales….What change-room horrors have you encountered lately?

  2. Yes I tend to agree – most shabby for no other store like David Jones….considering they have
humble undies and bras for sale at over 100 dollars.
But, lets now talk about me….
My pet hate is being busted upon by the sales assistant and having the change room curtain flung open or door almost ripped off its hinges with the accompanying wail of ” How ya
going ?” especially when you have not managed to pull your garments up past your hips as you turn beetroot red and break out into a somewhat lady like perspiration from trying to do up the button on a waistband.
OR how about the communal change rooms as experienced at warehouse sales where 20 to 50 people are crammed into a small room with no ventilation and the smallest of mirrors to be hogged by the one person who has managed to grab an armful of garments who is incapable of making a quick assessment of their soon to be or not to be purchase.
    Not happy!

  4. Having the sales clerk, while you’re trying something on in the dressing room, say’come on out and let’s see you in it.’

Things I want to say, but am too polite to say:

Lady, last time I looked, you weren’t my mama.
If you were such a fashion whiz, why aren’t you working at Vogue?
You’re not looking that good yourself, so why would I take advice from you?
    I’m over 21.

    • Loving it!!! I would be all about them coming in if they had something significant to contribute. Apparently there are some amazing new changeroom scanning technologies about to be released that will eliminate these issues. You might already have them in the states?
